Inhaled nitrous oxide/oxygen mixtures can be used throughout labour to help mothers cope with the pain during contractions and, if required, for uncomfortable examinations or suturing. ENTONOX may also reduce the need for other forms of analgesia.
Mothers can adjust their intake of ENTONOX to suit their own individual pain relief requirements. The gas mixture allows, as near as possible, the mother to experience the sensation of a natural birth.
Self-administration of ENTONOX has the benefits of:
Providing effective pain relief with rapid onset and offset of action.
Enabling the mother to choose when to administer analgesia to meet her needs
Enabling use at any time during labour up to birth.
